Cruises from Port Canaveral

The Orlando-area port for Bahamas weekends and Caribbean weeks.

Florida, United States

The Orlando-area port for Bahamas weekends and Caribbean weeks.

Port Canaveral is the homeport to use when the trip starts in Orlando rather than on the coast. The drive from Orlando International is commonly 45 to 60 minutes, depending on traffic, and it is the piece of the day people underestimate.

Our samples from this pier are short Bahamas sailings, including Disney’s shorter pattern, and a seven-night Caribbean week. It is a practical family port because the Orlando hotels and the ship are a single ground transfer apart. It is a poor choice if you wanted a downtown city embarkation.

  • Orlando, not the beachBudget the transfer. The port is an embarkation point, not a place most people spend the week.
  • Short and longThree- and four-night Bahamas samples sit next to a seven-night Caribbean sample.
  • DocumentsBring the boarding time from your line. Weekend peaks at this port are busy.

Questions about Port Canaveral

Is this the right port if I am flying into Miami?

No. Miami and Fort Lauderdale are the airports for those ports. Canaveral pairs with Orlando.

Are the short cruises only for families?

No. They are simply short. The Disney samples are the ones aimed at a family schedule.

What if the flight lands late?

A missed ship here usually means a long drive or a lost cruise. Arrive in Orlando the day before if the flight connection is tight.
